Rock the Ballet

So I went to see Rock the Ballet: Romeo and Juliet with P_Devil and Sara, and I have to say it was a marvellous idea!
The ballet was a wonderful mix of classic ballet and other more modern dances and dance moves with pop/rock music and occasional parts of classical compositions. The story itself was the famous Romeo and Juliet, but it was modernised with few changes such as one of the scenes happening in the red carpet or Romeo having a bachelor party, and of course they were wearing modern clothing, or at least most of them.
I loved the enthusiasm that all the dancers had and the casting was just perfect, I think every dancer had the perfect role for them. One of my favourite scenes was when Mercutio died (which was a tradegy because I loved that guy and especially his facial expressions), the dancer was just perfect and managed to make the scene dramatic and funny at the same time. It was just a wonderful to see how much sass a character could have.
All in all it was a really great ballet and I would most definitely recommend it to anyone who is even vaguely interested in music, dance or acting. Also it would be a nice choice if you are not that into classic ballet, little more relaxed and modern. And to be completely honest, I would prefer the ballet for the original book, which I'm not such a fan of.

a new beginning

I wasn't too active with my previous blog (jhellou CupCake), to be honest I just got bored with it. It was no longer what I wanted it to be. I will get a new, fresh start with this one. I try to be a better blogger this time, and my blog will be more like me; more art, more pictures, more fashion and less random texts.

Let's get straight to blogging then.

A while ago we went to take pictures with Nairje and Bogey. The theme for the pictures was Snow Queen and well that meant that I was out there, in the woods, wearing nothing but a dress - I didn't even have shoes on and there was snow on the ground. I have to say it was pretty cold, but worth it.

Thank you Nairje for all these pictures! She is a wonderful photographer, and what is also wonderful is that she can handle my complaining and the ugly faces I throw randomly.
